Visited Niagara Falls in Ontario, East Canada during the autumn

It was kinda of a disappointment as I had expected it to be awestruck-ingly spectacular having it being branded as one of the top natural wonders of the world. The drive through Niagara town brought me to a big tacky disneyland type of shops, malls and really bad fast food restaurants, quickly filled with gimmicky museums all the roads. It was not really impressive to have that pass you by before visiting the viewing platform for the falls.

Maybe I was too tired after a long 8 hours drive to get there, or maybe I was too jaded and travel weary to notice the views. Maybe it wasn’t as spectacular as Iguazu Falls in Argentina or Victoria Falls in South Africa. Your whole body trembles when you get to those falls.  In Niagara Falls, you just tremble at the tacky nature of everything surrounding you.

All I did on a lazy sunday was

…. Spending some time eating my way along a rather brief photo shoot before a huge rain storm ended it.

Came across this crumbling old building where it’s walls peeled away revealing these great Chinese Characters.

Will be back again, the walls make great textured art with paint slowly chipped away by man and time

Travel Food Recipe : Kick Ass Mushroom Soup

I love food but I don’t really like to cook, I prefer the eating part.

Travelling makes it a little more difficult to get that balance healthy diet and sometimes I am forced to cook, partly because the produce in the markets look too yummy not to, or to save tons of money on meals in those rather expensive cities.

While visiting pricey London, I fell in love with the gloriously stocked supermarkets where I found my favorite loves, mushrooms and cheese along with my other loves like smoked salmon and summer berries.

Here’s a rather quick recipe in making this amazing mushroom soup.

Recipe for Super Quick Mushroom Soup

1 Punnet of Portabello mushroom, washed, soaked in bowl of water for 5mins, then chopped into chunks

1 block of blue veined cheese (250g)

Microwave for 5-7mins.

This only works with microwave where the water soaked mushroom burst out allowing infusion of the mushroom juices and the cheese.

Londons are awfully rude!

Londoners are shockingly bloody rude! Wow! Parisans seem to be so polite and helpful compared to them. Its sunday and everything is closed, tube lines closed, shops close early, restaurants chase you out before you step in, some don’t even bother to tell you they are closing, just a rude waving flick towards your face.
